Thorndale Corridor TIF
The Thorndale Corridor TIF District was established in 2015 and contains 250 parcels that covers approximately 603 acres of improved land. The boundary of the Thorndale Corridor TIF District (depicted below) includes the commercial and industrial south of Thorndale Avenue between Wood Dale Road and IL Route 83, as well as all of the properties fronting along the Illinois 390 and Wood Dale Road from the Wood Dale Public Library north to Thorndale Avenue. No residential properties are included in this TIF.
The Thorndale Corridor TIF District was established to encourage investment and redevelopment to achieve the goals of the Thorndale Corridor Master Plan. The Thorndale Corridor Master Plan envisions the construction of a new Corporate Main Street centered around a walkable, mixed-use thoroughfare anchoring 1.9 million sq. ft. of 5-6 story office towers, 107,000 sq. ft. restaurant/retail space, 1.9 million sq. ft. of modern light industrial space, 2,420 hotel rooms, 415 multi-family housing units, 120K sq. ft. recreation center, and direct transit access to Chicago. See the plan below.
